Rainbow Tallit
After the Biblical flood, God placed a rainbow in the clouds to serve as a covenant between God and all living creatures on the earth. The Hebrew on the atarah is from the Noah story. “I have set My bow in the clouds and a sign between Me and the earth.” (Gen. 9:13) The rainbow has also been adopted as a symbol of pride for the LGBTQ community. The appliqué is embroidered on rainbow fabric encased in the Torah to remind us that all human beings are holy.
The tzitzit are tied according to the Sephardic tradition - 10/6/5/6 representing the letters that form God’s name: Yud, Hay, Vav, Hay.
A personalized tallit bag is also available in this store.
