Miriam Tallit
Miriam played an important role throughout the Torah. In the book of Exodus, we learned of the escape of the Israelites from Pharaoh. After the Israelites safely crossed the Reed Sea, Miriam led the women in a celebration of song and prayer. The Atarah, the neck band of the tallit, contains that verse from the Torah in Hebrew: “Miriam the prophetess took the timbrel and all the women went out after her.”
Miriam and the women’s skirts are appliquéd fabric. You choose one of the many fabric combinations shown in the photos and listed here:
Primary Colors - Red/Blue/Gold (as shown)
Gold Spotted Blue/Green/Wine
Gold Spotted Tan/Brown/Red
Pastel Colors
Earth Tones
Various Batik Pattern Colors
The tzitzit are tied according to the Sephardic tradition - 10/6/5/6 representing the letters that form God’s name: Yud, Hay, Vav, Hay.
A personalized tallit bag is also available in this store.
