The Torah teaches us to place “these teachings” on the doorposts of our house. “These teachings” have been interpreted by the Rabbis to mean the Shema and the V’ahavta. We beautify this custom by placing the prayer in a decorative case.

This design was inspired by children’s Hebrew blocks. It would make a perfect gift for a newborn or small child since it’s a mitzvah to put a mezuzah on the child’s bedroom door.

The piece is created with just embroidery thread in a technique called free standing lace. It is mounted in a custom made, 3D printed, acrylic and polymer mezuzah case. The size is 6.1 x 2.1 x .8 in (155 x 55 x 21 mm). There is a pocket inside that can hold a parchment up to 4 in (100mm) high. Included are two mounting screws, a paper scroll and instructions.
